ENCAUSTICS

Encaustics force me to simplify and work more abstractly. The molten wax and pigment force spontaneity. Many of my paintings are done over my pastel studies other are from memory. Each encaustic painting is a sealed image of a landscape I once stood in.

VINTAGE POSTAGE STAMPS

This series is inspired by a collection of postage stamps. Each painting is based on the stamp’s image, locations and travels. Every stamp tells a story. The stamp is included and preserved in the piece.
